Has Volvo Signs Jeremy Lin to Marketing Deal

By 2015, Volvo wants to sell up to 200,000 vehicles in China. By 2020, the company wants its global sales to reach 800,000. These are impressive and admirable goals, but thus far, the company has only 47,140 vehicles in the emerging Chinese market. Why is the Scandinavian automaker struggling to win over car buyers in China? It has very little to do with the quality found in a new Volvo. All it takes is one trip to Volvo of Burlingame, located at 900 Peninsula Ave Burlingame, CA 94010, to see that.

The problem that Volvo has selling…

Volvo Introduces New Pedestrian Airbags

When Volvo introduces a new safety feature; it tends to catch on with the general public. And to that extent, they tend to make their way into the lineups of other automakers too. For example, Volvo was the first automaker to introduce the modern three-point safety belt. They also were the first to equip a vehicle with a modern airbag. Both are now standard in every new car sold.

Most recently, Volvo has turned its attention from protecting those in the car to protecting those outside of the car. To this extent, Volvo has developed its "City Safety" crash avoidance…

The Revolutionary SARTRE Project

Volvo is taking their automotive and safety acumen to a new kind of transportation: road trains. "Trains?" you ask. Trains.

Sure, we may have largely done away with the strings of large, boxy cars here in the U.S., but rail continues to color the landscape in Europe, where this project takes place. Volvo is one of seven European companies collaborating on the effort to make ultra-safe, hyper-efficient, environmentally-friendly road trains - the only automotive partner.

Officially coined SARTRE (Safe Road Trains for the Environment), the endeavor is slated to be finished by the end of 2012. In early testing, a…

Volvo was able to achieve healthy growth over the past year in every one of its sales regions.  This helped to make Volvo the fast-growing luxury car company in the world.  Looking at the numbers, Volvo sales hit nearly 550,000 worldwide - a 20% boost over EOY numbers from 2010.
